About the Artist

 

I'm an artist, illustrator and field biologist residing in Eastern Ontario, Canada. As a kid, my interests were sports, art and nature. My hockey dream crashed pretty early but I found myself volunteering my summers away at Long Point Bird Observatory as a teenager where I became hooked on birds and the natural world (Thanks Mom!). After a post-secondary education at Wilfred Laurier I spent many years working near and far as a Ornithologist/Field Technician, often living in remote and rustic conditions and never once regretted it. In 2009, I began working as an illustrator of field guides to birds and established a non-profit initiative dedicated to bird populations in the Frontenac Arch region of Ontario. In 2020 I began posting my personal art projects on instagram and now have a new dream of painting and drawing my own work for a living : )
