Maple Light - Swainson's Thrush | 27x19 | Pastel on Pastelmat

I love the way the light filters through the forest foliage and always wanted to a drawing of it, so here it is! I went with a Swainson's Thrush (Catharus Ustulatus) here, a favourite northern species of mine with a haunting voice. Also depicted are Sugar Maple (Acer Saccharum) leaves and a few flying insects for some added spice.
